ABOUT WARREN WECHSLER
Warren Wechsler has been involved with horses since his college days. He was first attracted to thoroughbreds. As a college student his idea of a good time was going to the track and watching the thoroughbreds race at tracks all over the United States. His passion was rekindled in 1998 when his older daughter, Alison, became interested in learning how to ride horses. From an early age Alison would create every type of imaginable horse toy. Every stick in the yard was a horse and all of her push toys were horses. In 1998 Alison started receiving horseback riding lessons and Warren was the parent that dragged her along. One thing led to another and Warren's passion was rekindled and he found out he had a very strong affinity for horses.
To make a long story short, today Warren owns a horse ranch in Southeast Iowa and is the proud owner, along with his family, of four horses. Drifter, a twenty-one-year old Welsh pony/Quarter Horse cross, is a fabulous babysitter and a gentle horse that anyone can ride. He is a retired barrel racer. Big Red is a nineteen-year-old thoroughbred who is also a delightful horse to ride. He goes Western and English. He has led trail rides through the mountains in Colorado, ridden on the beaches in California and in his performance days was a fined tuned three day eventing horse. Chance is a nine-year-old Arabian who Warren thinks is the most fun to ride. To ride him you have to be alert as to what you are doing every moment. Finally, Alison's dream horse is Caesar, a liver chestnut colored Morgan. Alison has wanted a Morgan for as long as she can remember. Caesar does dressage, jumping, Western pleasure, English pleasure, and saddleseat.
Warren's daughter Samantha is also very interested in horses and Gail, Warren's wife, tolerates all the rest of us.
